Renewables met 95% of Portugal's demand in April
May 06, 2024 13:27 CESTGreenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) announced on Monday that it will supply renewable power from several solar communities it has closely located to local lender Millennium bcp’s branches in Portugal.
More specifically, solar power from these communities will be delivered to more than 60 of the bank’s consumption points.
According to the press statement, the power supply will extend to Millennium bcp's other branches once Greenvolt creates new communities.
“This partnership with the Greenvolt reflects Millennium bcp’s strengthened commitment to assuming a leading role in the energy transition process, as all of the Bank’s branches will become consumers of clean energy”, adds the CEO of Millennium bcp, Miguel Maya.
The project will be implemented through Greenvolt Comunidades which focuses on promoting the distributed generation (DG) sector. Currently, it has around 120 communities already implemented or in the implementation phase in Portugal.
