Derry supervisor hears resident concerns

LEWISTOWN — Residents shared concerns regarding a home with overgrown landscaping issues on Monday at a Derry Township supervisors meeting.

Justina Burke, a neighbor near the home on the 1900 block of Glenwood Avenue voiced her concerns, stating that she has attempted to trim the bushes the best she can.

Burke stated that her other neighbor, a man with two kids, has killed several snakes that have taken home within the overgrown weeds making it a hazard to his family as well as others.

It was noted that the home belonged to a couple that is now deceased, therefore the supervisors will look into citing the current owners.

If they do not comply the Derry Township will remove the weeds and bush at the cost of the owner of the property.
