Mega Entertainment, north east’s largest fashion and pageant event organizer, announced the dates of the grand finale of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East and Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East at Trends, Lachit Nagar today.

The Grand Finale of 8thFair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East, supported by Title Sponsor Fair & Lovely Men, Fashion Partner Trends, Hospitality Partner Radisson Blu, Digital Partner Vodafone SuperNet 4G And Co-Sponsored by Panasonic will be held at ITA Cultural Complex, Machkhowa, on 24th June, 2017 from 7 onwards.

On 25thJune, 2017, 7 pm onwards, ITA Cultural Complex will host the Grand Finale of 15thSunsilk Mega Miss North East, which has been supported by Title Sponsor Sunsilk, Fashion Partner Trends, Beauty Partner Pond’s White Beauty, Hospitality Partner Radisson Blu, Confidence Partner Rexona, Digital Partner Vodafone SuperNet 4G And Co-Sponsored by Panasonic.

The finalists have been chosen through a series of auditions held in Agartala, Itanagar, Dibrugarh, Imphal, Shillong and Guwahati from 29th May to 11th June. Through these auditions, the pageant organizers shortlisted 50 women, who will vie for the coveted title of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East; and 50 men will compete to become the most desirable man of the region, to win the title of Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East. The names of the finalists were announced through Vodafone Play on 18th June, and an online voting campaign to choose the most popular contestant has already been initiated.

Speaking to the media during the press conference today, Abhijit Singha, Founder of Mega Entertainment, said, “At Mega Entertainment, we strive towards setting up an international platform for our winners where they can prepare themselves for the global fashion and glamour industry. Our winners will also get an opportunity to travel to a number of South Asian countries, thus giving them an opportunity to study the myriad cultures of the different countries, and adding to their grooming and personality development.”

“In the last 15 years, Mega Entertainment has given everything it could towards making Mega Miss and Mister North East the biggest beauty pageants the region has ever seen. This year, we are banking on our younger associates to bring in newer ideas on the table. With the new Managing Director Kanhaiya Mehta and Head of Operations Jeku Taba taking charge of the dream, we are sure the legacy of Mega Entertainment is in safe hands,” he adds.

Speaking to the media fraternity today, Kanhaiya Mehta, Managing Director, Mega Entertainment, said, “I feel honoured to be a part of the legacy that Abhijit Singha has driven since the past 15 years. This year is an important benchmark for us, and with a young and dynamic team in position supporting me in managing the two pageants, I am optimistic that we will make our mentor proud and make our 15th year a splendid success.”

Also present on the occasion were Bobby Singh, Fashion & Lifestyle Promoter and Monika Devi, an esteemed Jury Member of Mega Miss & Mister North East.

The contestants will undergo a strict pre-judging process during their training and grooming sessions, where the female contestants will be judged on their poise, carriage, intelligence and beauty. The entire training process will be supervised by Contestant Directors and erstwhile beauty queens of Mega Entertainment, Juhi Gogoi and Jessica Marbaniang. The male contestants will be judged on their intelligence, fitness, personality and confidence and will be groomed under the supervision of previous title winners - Piyush Sharma and Sadananda Meisnam the Contestant Directors for the men’s category. On the day of the Grand Finale, Meriya Subba- Reigning Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2016, and Animesh Pandit- Reigning Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mister North East 2016 will felicitate their successor at the conclusion of the pageant.

Mega Entertainment has also initiated an online voting campaign through its Digital Partner Vodafone SuperNet 4G. The contestant who gets the highest number of SMS vote will be adjudged the Vodafone Miss Popular & Mister Popular who will get a direct entry into the semifinals, thus taking them a step closer to their dream.

Sunsilk, India’s premium hair-care brand announces a one-of-its kind association with Mega Entertainment, northeast’s largest fashion and pageant event organizer. As the presenting sponsor for this much-awaited contest, Sunsilk celebrates the free-spirited, joyful and confident girl. Given the spirit that the Sunsilk girl embodies, there could not have been a better association than with Mega Miss North East where all the young girls from different walks of life write their story in their own way, with their black shiny hair by their side, be it day or night!

The Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2017 winner will get a prize package worth Rs. 3,00,000, including an opportunity to become the face of Sunsilk’s print and outdoor campaigns and opportunity to walk the biggest fashion event of the country Lakmé Fashion Week for Trends in Mumbai. The winner of Fair & Lovely Men - Mega Mister North East 2017 will win a prize package worth Rs. 1,50,000.

The prize package of both the pageants includes a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, gift hampers from respective title sponsors Sunsilk and Fair & Lovely Men, LED TV and grooming kits by Panasonic, unlimited calling and 4g/3g data for 1 year by Vodafone, 1 year gym membership by Biofit, UM Motors and other sponsors. Both the winners will win professional representation by Mega Entertainment, and a professional grooming session, which would guide them further on how to carry themselves forward in the professional sphere. They will also get the opportunity to walk the ramp in various national and international shows, and traveling and international representation opportunities in countries like Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam & Cambodia.
