Cyprus' EU measure of inflation accelerated in August after easing in the previous month, data from the statistical service showed Monday.
The harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, rose 1.7 percent year-on-year following 1.4 percent increase in July. In June, inflation was 1.7 percent.
Prices strongly rose in the food and non-alcoholic beverages, transport and utilities groups.
Compared to the previous month, the HICP rose 1.2 percent in August.
