But the 32-year-old was left disappointed with his £1.99 purchase after he sat down to eat it.

He found that the ingredients had actually all been pushed toward the front of the bread which had made it look fuller than it was.

Joel decided to make a complaint on social media where he shared a photograph of his lackluster lunch.

He posted the image alongside a caption that read: 'Very disappointed with my sandwich from Aldi, not even half full!

'Very deceiving as it looks full in the packet but when you actually look inside you get this.'

A spokesperson for Aldi was quick to respond to his message and commented: 'Hi Joel, we're very sorry to see this.

'If you still have your receipt, you can return the packaging to any branch of Aldi within 60 days of purchase and we'll be happy to provide a full refund.

'Thanks, Aldi UK Facebook Team.'
