The midsize SUV, the Seltos, was recently updated by Kia with more features added to the less expensive models and more economical automatic alternatives. Even though the facelifted Seltos was introduced last year, the South Korean automaker has strengthened its position in the mid-size SUV market by giving two of its variants more equipment and offering new paint schemes for the entry-level model. We find out what makes the 2024 Seltos a value-for-money SUV.

2024 Kia Seltos: Budget-friendly petrol automatic

Driving in the worsening traffic might be difficult, especially if you have a manual gearbox. Kia is attempting to make gasoline-powered automatic Seltos more accessible by introducing the CVT automatic transmission in the HTK+ model. At Rs 15.42 lakh, ex-showroom, the HTK+ IVT is the most affordable automatic Seltos HTK+, costing Rs 1.3 lakh less than the HTX IVT. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol powerplant of the Seltos HTK+ produces 144 Nm of torque and 113 bhp of power. The Seltos CVT has a mileage of 17.7 km/l, according to ARAI.

2024 Kia Seltos: New entry-level diesel automatic

Kia has introduced a new diesel automatic option in the popular Seltos HTK+ variant. The new HTK+ now is available with a 6-speed automatic torque converter. Priced at Rs 16.92 lakh, it is the most affordable diesel automatic in the Seltos lineup. The new diesel automatic variant is Rs 1.3 lakh cheaper than the HTX trim. The Seltos gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out 114 bhp and 250 Nm. According to ARAI, it returns a mileage of 19.1 kmpl.

2024 Kia Seltos: HTK+ gets new features

According to Kia, the Seltos HTK+ is its best-selling variant. Hence, the automobile maker has introduced a host of new features in this trim apart from new automatic transmissions. The additions that the Seltos HTK+ boasts are a panoramic sunroof, multiple drive and traction control modes, LED fog lamps and connected LED tail lamps. Apart from this, the HTK+ sports leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and a new colour option, the Aurora Black Pearl. For a more involving driving experience, the automatic— both petrol CVT and diesel torque convertor — now comes with paddle shifters.

2024 Kia Seltos: New equipment for HTK

Kia has added some new functions to the Seltos HTK variant like new Star Map LED DRLs, LED connected tail lights, key fob with remote engine start and stop and push-button ignition start/stop. The HTK variant is available in both 1.5-litre NA petrol and 1.5-litre diesel, but only with a manual transmission.

2024 Kia Seltos: HTE and HTX trim updates

Five new colour schemes for the entry-level Seltos HTE are now available: Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey, Intense Red, Pewter Olive, and Imperial Blue. There are no new features added to the HTE. 

From HTX onwards, Kia has now made all four power windows standard with voice command and auto up/down capabilities.
