The Counseling and Career Center at Halifax Community College will hold its first wellness resource fair.

The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday in Building 400, Rooms 401 A and B, on the college’s campus.

The primary objective of the Standing On Wellness Resource Fair is to empower individuals to embrace healthier lifestyles, cultivate a culture of well-being, and facilitate behavior change.

By bringing together an array of community agencies, the fair aims to reduce health risk factors, increase utilization of preventive care services, and enhance overall health and productivity.

“The title Standing On Wellness derives its inspiration from the widely recognized phrase Standing On Business, symbolizing resilience, steadfastness, and commitment in matters of work,” the college said. “Through this fair, HCC encourages attendees to prioritize their health and well-being with the same determination.”

The event is open to students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members.

It will include the following demonstrations and interactive activities:

Yoga sessions

Self-care facials provided by HCC's Cosmetology students

DIY breast exams tutorials conducted by HCC’s Nursing students

CPR demonstrations

Healthy cooking demonstrations

Blood pressure screenings conducted by HCC’s Nursing students
