Three men from New Jersey were arrested this week after police said they stole nearly $30,000 in goods from multiple Home Depot locations.
Police in Lower Paxton Township, Pennsylvania were sent to a Home Depot just before noon on Tuesday for a theft in progress, according to a police report.
Home Depot employees told officers that three men inside the store were responsible for nearly $30,000 in thefts from Home Depot locations across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, according to abc27.com.
Police watched the men conceal over $2,600 in merchandise in a large tote trash can before stopping the men as they walked out of the store, authorities said.
Investigators later learned the men were all speaking with each other on the phone while committing the theft, police said.
Jhon Cardona-Alviz, 37, of Dover, Juan Mancera, 24, of Budd Lake and Christian Sanchez, 32, of Dover, were charge with organized retail theft, criminal use of a communication facility, retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft. All four charges are third-degree felonies.
As of Wednesday, the men were being held at the Dauphin County Prison with their bails denied, court documents show. Each of the men has a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 7.
