USDA recalls over 30,000 pounds of beef, turkey snack sticks from Costco, other stores

Need a snack break? Look at the USDA before you take a chomp out of a popular beef jerky stick sold nationwide. 

The Chomps brand recalled almost 30,000 pounds of beef and turkey sticks, which are sold in stores nationwide, including Costco, Sprouts and others, as part of a larger recall of ready-to-eat beef jerky products. 

Here’s what to know about the recall. 

Recall made on 411,000 products 

The voluntary recall from Idaho-based Idaho Smokehouse Partners, LLC, concerns 29,541 pounds of ready-to-eat beef stick products for possible contamination with foreign material, specifically metals. 

The ready-to-eat beef stick product was produced Jan. 13-15. 

Each stick weighing 1.15 ounces adds up to roughly 411,000 individual items on the recall list.

Where to find Chomps Beef, Turkey sticks 

According to the brand's locator, the recalled brand is sold in over 20 stores in Oklahoma City. These locations include ALDI, Homeland, Sprouts, Target, Walmart and Whole Foods Market. Each of the locations that sell the brand has at least one of the recalled products on its shelves.

What to do if you have the recalled products

If you have one of the recalled products, Chomps says to return it to the store for a full refund.
