McLaren Children's Health Fair returns to Petoskey Middle School on April 5

PETOSKEY — Get it on the books: McLaren Northern Michigan's Children's Health Fair will make its return next weekend.
McLaren Northern Michigan is welcoming families for the 31st annual fair, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at Petoskey Middle School.
“This has been a longstanding tradition for many Northern Michigan families, and one we are very happy to organize,” Gar Atchison, McLaren Northern Michigan President and CEO, said in a press release. “It is a pillar of our organization to be community-focused, and it is a commitment we take passionately. We are very excited for this year’s event and the opportunity to engage with local families for the benefit of all.”
The annual event welcomes community members to learn about the various health opportunities and resources available to them locally.
In addition to offering free lunch and a chance to teach parents about best practices for keeping children safe, the Super Hero Fun Run will be back, as will a petting zoo, live music, prize drawings, crafts and more.
Additionally, many McLaren Northern Michigan care services will be at the event, covering pediatric physical therapy, stroke programming, emergency and trauma medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, orthopedics and sports medicine.
There will also be representatives from groups like the Petoskey District Library, Petoskey Pediatric Dentistry, the Charlevoix-Emmet Intermediate School District and more.
First responder vehicles will be on site for kids to explore, including vehicles from the U.S. Coast Guard, local EMS agencies and police departments. Car seat fittings will be offered for families with small children as well.
