Not only would I have to spend trip money on a down payment and closing costs, it would also tie up my cash in a mortgage, remodels, and repairs. Tiny houses offer an alternative homeownership option — and some even come with enough storage for your travel outfits and suitcase collection. That’s a dream for a frequent flier like me.

Surprisingly, Amazon’s outdoor store is stocked with a variety of customizable and expandable tiny houses that are more affordable than traditional homes. My latest favorite find is this hotel resort-inspired tiny house that has a bedroom, kitchen, living room, and floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the space with natural light. You can customize the entire home, whether that’s adding another bedroom, expanding the square footage, incorporating a separate laundry room, or adding outdoor space like a front deck.
