A Wiltshire brewery plans to open its new town centre store in the coming weeks.
Devizes-based Wadworth closed the Brewery Tap and Shop at its historic Northgate Street site last year following the firm’s move to a new complex on Folly Road.
Since then, the brewery has been working to open a new town centre store to sell its products, with a pop-up venue operational at The Bear hotel in the meantime.
Now Wadworth has announced that its Brewery Shop will open on May 1 next door to The Three Crowns pub on Maryport Street.
A spokesperson for the brewery said: “Exciting news. Our new Brewery Shop will be opening May 1.

“In the meantime, follow our shop team on socials for all the updates and head to the pop-up shop at The Bear until we open the new doors.
“More details including Easter opening hours are on our website.”
The business had plans approved by Wiltshire Council last year to change the use of a vacant unit next to the pub into a retail outlet.
A proposal was also lodged with the council to decorate the outside of the building, although this is yet to be determined.
During the planning process, Wadworth said it was “vital” that it maintains a retail presence in the centre of Devizes, where it has operated for nearly 150 years.

“The retail outlet at Northgate Street was established over 10 years ago and was a popular attraction within the town for locals and tourists alike.
“It is vital that Wadworth maintains a presence within Devizes and in particular, the centre of town.
“Continued daily visits to the closed Northgate site, and the Brewery at Folly Road, by locals wanting to buy beer, shows demand continues for a local outlet.
“The shop will provide a place where loyal customers can fulfil their shopping needs.”
Work is ongoing to convert the empty unit, once in use as a cafe known as Emily’s Tea Rooms, into a shop.
For the last decade, Wadworth has used this space as temporary accommodation for employees when necessary.
