Andover foodies and craft beer lovers could soon have a new spot to indulge, as Powder Monkey Brewery revealed its mouthwatering plans for the town’s historic Guildhall.

From Eggs Benedict in the morning to artisan pies and smashed burgers later in the day, the proposed bar and restaurant aims to offer a fresh and exciting addition to the local dining scene.

The brewery’s plans don’t stop at food—its own craft beers will be on tap, alongside quality wines, artisan spirits, and locally sourced coffee. Sunday roasts will also be a staple, adding a comforting, traditional touch to the menu.

As previously reported, Powder Monkey is looking to transform the Grade II listed building into a vibrant hospitality venue.

The business has now submitted a planning application for a change of use of the venue.

If approved, the bar will operate from 9am to 10pm Monday to Thursday, with extended hours until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The kitchen will serve food until 9pm, except on Sundays when it will close at 7pm.

The planning statement by Test Valley Borough Council, seen online, said: "The proposed change of use will enable the premises to open for business after a long period of redundancy.

"It will bring vitality to a historic building without any alteration to the fabric and character of the asset. It will add energy to the town centre and enhance the night time economy."

The company said: "PM are proud of their engagement with organisations and charities which give back to the community.

"We are looking to extend that in terms of connections in Andover and the surrounding areas, for example, replicating our relationship with the Navy and the Army.

"All out operations encourage local employees and this will be the same for the Guildhall site.

"Employing local staff is key to encourage local users and to further define our commitment to the area.

"While our management team are centralised, the team on the ground will be very much local people where possible.

In its Vision Statement, PM said it wants to offer "quality ingredients for a simple but appealing food offering featuring locally sourced ingredients where possible and utilising our contacts through Hampshire Fare."

The company continued to say it is looking to "engage with local groups, organisations, businesses, etc for events and showcase the area and what it has to offer."
