AIA Newark & Suburban Architects to showcase student artwork

AIA Newark & Suburban Architects will host an exhibit showcasing artwork by local New Jersey students in grades 6 to 12.

The exhibition will open on April 6 at the Montclair Public Library, 50 South Fullerton Ave., and run through April 28. An opening reception will be held on April 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the café area.

The exhibition will feature drawings, paintings, and software renderings created by students from Newark, Montclair, Orange, and Kearny who participated in AIA Newark & Suburban’s The Holidays Student Art Contest, receiving achievement awards for their creative and inspiring designs.

Held in conjunction with New Jersey Architecture Week, April 6 to 12, the exhibition celebrates the artistic talent of local students and provides a platform for them to share their creative work with the community.

By fostering creativity and an appreciation for design at an early age, the contest is intended to “encourage students to consider how architecture shapes the world around them and inspires future generations to explore careers in architecture and related fields.”
