Building a Better Boyertown — Boyertown’s Main Street Organization — welcomes the return of spring with a community celebration.
Boyertown’s 12th annual Coming Out of Hibernation event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, with a rain date of April 13.
The free, family-friendly event offers fun for all ages. East Philadelphia Avenue from the Reading Avenue intersection to Franklin Street in Boyertown will be lined with local vendors, food trucks, live music, and spring-themed crafts and games.
“Whether you’re looking to shop locally, sample delicious treats, or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere, this event has something for everyone,” organizers said in the release.
Throughout the day, live music performances will be provided by local musicians and DJ Steve Hartenstine of ESJAY Entertainment.
Event highlights include Koo-Koo the Cartoon Magician next to The Other Farm restaurant at 11 a.m., Boyertown Mayor Lori Carnes waking up Boyertown bear mascot Bearianne from her winter slumber next to the Atherton Inn at noon, and Visions Dance performance near the railroad tracks and Ironstone Restaurant at 1:30 p.m.
All day, there will be a petting zoo and pony rides from Fluffy EnRoute (for fee), as well as YMCA Healthy Kids activities all day in Body-Borneman’s parking lot.
Local art and craft vendors will sell and display their one-of-a-kind creations, including handmade jewelry, wood crafts and boutique apparel. Find handmade items by local students in Little Entrepreneur Alley.
Parking is free all day. The Borough of Boyertown has lifted all hourly parking restrictions during the event. Public parking is available in the Town Center East and West lots off South Reading Avenue. Additional parking is available behind Truist Bank and St. John’s Lutheran Church off North Reading Avenue. On-street parking is also available around town.
