“Bob’s Burgers” fans have questions about the future of the show.
A lengthy midseason break in the middle of season 15 had some viewers wondering whether “Bob’s Burgers” had been canceled, but the fandom finally got some good news this week.
“Bob’s Burgers” has been renewed for season 16, but wait, there’s more! Fox renewed the beloved series through season 19, meaning it will be on the air until at least 2029.
“Family Guy,” “The Simpsons,” and “American Dad” were also renewed for four more seasons. Deadline reported that the seasons will be 15 episodes each.
A four-season renewal is a rarity. Marci Proietto, the head of 20th Television Animation, called the deal “truly monumental” in a statement.
“We are so proud that these legendary shows will continue for hundreds of more episodes, allowing new and longstanding fans to watch, rewatch, and experience more of ‘The Simpsons’, ‘Family Guy’, ‘American Dad,’ and ‘Bob’s Burgers’ for years to come,” Proietto continued.

It seems likely that season 16 of “Bob’s Burgers” will premiere in the fall, but season 15 isn’t over yet. According to a January Hollywood Reporter article, Fox said that season 15 — which has been on a break since December 2024 — would resume later in the 2025 spring season.
If 15-episode seasons are the new trend, that would mean there are five episodes remaining in season 15 of “Bob’s Burgers.” It would make sense for the series to return once some space opens up on Fox’s Sunday night lineup; Currently, “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “The Great North,” and “Krapopolis” air back to back on Sunday nights.
Season 14 of “Bob’s Burgers” also had an erratic schedule. Although the season debuted in October 2023, the final three episodes didn’t air until September 2024, right before season 15 premiered. The unusual schedule was a result of the SAG-AFTRA writer’s strike.
“Bob’s Burgers” is available to stream on Hulu.
