RCSD releases new details in Columbia Place Mall

Richland Co., SC (WOLO) — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is releasing new details in connection to a shooting that took place at Columbia Place Mall along Two Notch Road. RCSD says they responded to the mall around 3:30 pm Wednesday afternoon for a shooting officials say took place between groups who knew each other.

Authorities say once they arrived at the scene they were able to locate the victim who was not the intended target and render aid before taking them to a nearby hospital for treatment.  No additional victims were identified. Deputies say during their investigation they determined there were at least three shooters involved in the incident.

Authorities say there were other people around at the time including a mother with a baby in a stroller who were not injured during the incident. Deputies say they have been able to obtain surveillance video from the mall that is still being analyzed.
