Meghan Markle might have received some negative comments about her new Netflix show, but she'll always have one loyal supporter - her mom Doria Ragland.

The Duchess of Sussex is getting ready to release the second season of With Love, Meghan and while fans can't wait, her critics aren't quite so eager. Some people slammed the first season as inauthentic and former royal family chef Jameson Stocks even branded it "awkward."

In a new interview, Meghan seemed exasperated as she threw her hands up when told about the criticism. However, her mom decided to speak out against the negative comments.

"Everyone is coming in hot these days," Doria told The New York Times. Elsewhere in the interview, Meghan opened up about her work and seemed to make a subtle dig at the royal family.

"I need to work, and I love to work," she said. Meghan also pointed out that she had not been out of work since she was 13 until she became engaged to Prince Harry, when she instead joined the royal family.

Meghan was also asked about her reason for wanting to stay in the spotlight despite enduring "the worst kind of public attention." She explained, "This is a way I can connect my home life and my work."

The interview comes as Meghan's new business As Ever launched on Wednesday and fans rushed to buy what they could before stock sold out. Meghan's new collection included items such as cookie mixes, raspberry jam, honey and a choice of different teas.

A lot of the products sold out in the first half-an-hour, including Meghan's $15 flower sprinkles, her $28 honey and $12 peppermint tea. Meghan celebrated As Ever's success on her Instagram page.

"Our shelves may be empty, but my heart is full! We sold out in less than one hour and I can’t thank you enough…for celebrating, purchasing, sharing, and believing," she wrote alongside a snap of herself smiling in her garden.

Meghan added, "It’s just the start @aseverofficial Here we go!" On the As Ever Instagram page, she teased, "And just like that…we are SOLD OUT! In less than an hour! Thank you for every last order — stay tuned and follow along for future updates."
