Frito-Lay issued a recall on March 26 for a limited amount of 13 oz. Tostitos chips bags, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The chips were distributed in 13 states, including Illinois.

Here's what to know about the recall.

Which products were recalled?

The food company recalled less than 1,300 13 oz. bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips. The products have the “Guaranteed Fresh” date of May 20, 2025, and would have been available for purchase as early as March 7, 2025.

The recalled products' codes can be seen on the FDA website here.

Why are Tostitos being recalled?

Frito-Lay is recalling the chips because they may contain undeclared milk, which could put those with allergies or severe sensitivities to milk at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction.

The FDA said no allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported to date.

Where are Tostitos being recalled?

The chips were distributed to a mix of retailers, including grocery, convenience and drug stores, as well as e-commerce distributors, in the following states:

  • Alabama
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Mississippi
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia
