1 hurt in shooting, 1 arrested after fight escalates in Rio Linda, sheriff says

DISCOVERED THERE WAS ONE ADULT MALE WHO HAD BEEN SHOT IN THE TORSO. WAS IMMEDIATELY TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VICTIM, A MAN IN HIS 20S, IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION. THE MALE SHOOTER, SPEAKING WITH DEPUTIES. THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND WHAT HAPPENED IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. WE LEARNED THE SHOOTER LEFT FROM THE SCENE. A man was shot and taken to the hospital Saturday in Sacramento County, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office said the shooting was reported around 1:30 p.m. and happened in the 300 block of Jubilee Way in Rio Linda.

The sheriff's office said a physical fight escalated into a shooting and the person believed to be the shooter took off running.

The man who was shot is in critical condition, the sheriff's office said.

The suspected shooter, Michael Carradine, was formally arrested Saturday night after talking with deputies.

He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and will appear in court on April 8.
