Anna Davis described her Saturday at Augusta National in one sentence.

“A ho-hum day,” said Davis, 19, who won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2022. But she hadn't been able to say that about her tournament experience here since then.

The Auburn University sophomore carded a final round 70, including birdies at Nos. 6, 7, 14 and 16.

Davis finished the ANWA at 4-under.

“I hit a lot of greens, gave myself a lot of birdie opportunities,” Davis said. “Didn’t make a lot of them … but it was an easy 2-under.”

After winning the event as a 16-year-old, the San Diego native missed the cut in 2023 and 2024.

As defending champion two Aprils ago, Davis received a four-shot penalty on the first hole at Champions Retreat after incorrectly lifting her ball twice from the rough. Davis thought she recorded a bogey on the hole but wound up with a nine.

Last year, Davis received a one-stroke penalty for slow play and missed playing Augusta National by a shot.

Davis spoke about making the cut this year, saying, “It was very special to play here; to make the cut meant so much. I might appreciate Augusta National even more now (than I did in 2022) because I understand the history.”

Davis briefly turned her focus to college basketball, where Auburn faces Florida in the Final Four.

When asked if she was nervous, Davis said, “No, not at all. We’ve got it in the bag.”
