Lily Collins brought elegant flair to the 11th annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in Santa Monica on Saturday, dressing up in black mesh pumps and a pearl-adorned gown.
The “Emily in Paris” star exuded a Parisian chic aura in a strapless gown featuring a fitted black velvet bodice and a sheer tulle skirt with a mermaid silhouette and a starry scattering of pearls adorning the delicate fabric. The actress’ fierce brunette bob was on display as well as graduated dangling earrings.
As for her footwear, Collins picked out a pair of black mesh pumps to complement her striking dress. The shoes featured a classic pointed toe, low-cut curved vamp and a thin ankle strap helping to secure the style. She wore a pair of Emporio Armani’s Embroidered-Fabric Court Shoes With Strap, which sell for around $600.
The pointed court shoes are made of an embroidered-fabric upper and a slanted heel, measuring 3.75 inches. The pumps were semi-transparent, falling in line with a popular footwear trend that leans toward a more sultry vibe than a traditional pump. From Ayo Edebiri wearing white mesh Prada slingbacks to Camila Cabello wearing black Saint Laurent mesh pumps, the trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
The Breakthrough Prize Ceremony finds a slew of Hollywood stars celebrating scientific trailblazers. Gayle King is among those in attendance at this year’s event; the “CBS Mornings” co-host dressed up in a fringe-adorned gown and a pair of silver pumps — metallic shoes are yet another trend which have strong longevity in the footwear market.
