The Wilkerson family is anything but the picture-perfect family: the father, Hal, is a goof; the mother, Lois, is always yelling at someone or trying to take control; the oldest son, Francis, took an escape route as soon as possible; Reese is basically a criminal; Dewey is intelligent; youngest Jamie is always to blame. And Malcolm, often considered the genius of the clan, well, he’s stuck smack dab in the middle of the family.
Malcolm in the Middle aired for a total of seven seasons, beginning in 2000 and running until 2006. The series stars Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, as well as Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Masterson, Justin Berfield, Erik Per Sullivan and Lukas and James Rodriguez. The hit comedy series is now being brought back for a reboot on Disney+, starring all of the original characters, with the exception of Per Sullivan, and is set to run in late 2025.

Frankie Muniz and Paige Price
Malcolm himself, played by Frankie Muniz, isn’t in the middle anymore! Muniz has found love with his now-wife, Paige Price. The pair first met in 2016 at the 28th annual Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational in California.
Although it’s not confirmed when the two began dating, Price posted a photo of Muniz in August 2016 with the caption, “my main squeeze 🍋👏🏼💕.” Muniz and Price later got engaged in 2018 at a lantern festival and the proposal was a scene straight out of Tangled.
The two spontaneously eloped in a small ceremony in 2019 and later had an official wedding on February 21, 2020. On March 22, 2021, the couple welcomed their first child together, son Mauz Mosley Muniz. The couple frequently pose together on red carpets, supporting one another publicly.
Bryan Cranston and Mickey Middleton
Bryan Cranston, who portrays Hal on Malcolm in the Middle, was previously married to writer Mickey Middleton. The pair tied the knot in 1977, but their marriage didn’t last a long time, as they divorced after five years in 1982.
Bryan Cranston and Robin Dearden
Cranston married actress Robin Dearden in 1989. The couple met while both were filming an episode of the series Airwolf in 1986. Despite both actors having a significant other at the time, they felt something for one another.
A year later, Cranston and Dearden ran into one another at an improv comedy class, where they greeted each other with a brief kiss, but it went on longer than planned.
“We were both. like, ‘Wait that was too long, wasn’t it?!’” Cranston recalled. “And that is really what happened.”
Cranston later proposed to Dearden and the two got married on July 8, 1989. The couple later welcomed a daughter, Taylor, on February 12, 1993. She followed in the pair’s footsteps, graduating with an acting degree.
Jane Kaczmarek and Bradley Whitford
Jane Kaczmarek, who plays Lois on the series, was previously married to The West Wing’s Bradley Whitford. The pair met while in New York City in 1989 and later got married in August 1992. During their relationship, the couple welcomed three children together: daughter Frances in 1997, son George in 1999 and daughter Mary in 2002.
After 16 years of marriage, the couple decided to separate in 2009, and their divorce was finalized in 2010.
Christopher Masterson and Yolanda Pecoraro
Christopher Masterson, who portrays Francis, is currently married to actress Yolanda Pecoraro. It’s not known when the couple first met, but the duo got engaged in June 2018 and exchanged vows in August 2019. On April 3, 2021, the pair welcomed their first child together, daughter Chiara.
Justin Berfield and Liza Almeida
Justin Berfield, who plays Malcolm in the Middle’s Reese, is currently married to Liza Almeida. Although very little is known about the pair, made public is the fact that they married in 2017. The couple also has two children together, one daughter born during the 2020 pandemic and the other unknown.
