River Plate and Talleres de Córdoba drew 1-1 in the match corresponding to Matchday 13 of the Argentine League. The home team failed to qualify for the playoffs, while the visitors remain out of the standings.

Midfielder Franco Mastantuono was booked for protesting. This is River Plate's second yellow card and his fourth of the match overall.       

The referee added 7 more minutes from now on.

The match was stopped due to Talleres' time wasting, the goals, and the four substitution windows that were used.

Ignacio Fernández's through ball led to Gonzalo Montiel's run down the right side. Montiel reached the byline and crossed into the middle of the box for Miguel Borja, who headed inside the left post to make it 1-1.

Defender Germán Pezzella of River and midfielder Matías Galarza Fonda of Talleres were booked for protesting. This was their second yellow card for the away team and their first for the home team.

Midfielder Marcos Portillo came on for midfielder Camilo Portilla. This is the fifth and final substitution for Talleres de Córdoba, who have used up all their substitutions in two windows and halftime.

River took advantage of a Talleres error to quickly come out in search of an equalizer. A pass to the left went to Borja, who automatically crossed to Mastantuono on the right, who, after beating an opponent and getting into the box, shot straight off the visiting crossbar.

Ignacio Fernández and Ian Subiabre came on for Santiago Simón and Facundo Coldio. This is the third and fourth change for River, who still have one change and a window available to make it.

Cristian Tarragona and Joaquín Mosqueira came on for Federico Girotti and Emanuel Reynoso. This is the third and fourth substitution for Talleres, who still have one change available and two windows they won't be able to take advantage of.

Colidio received the ball on the left wing and, with Talleres' defense pushing forward, he played a long pass for Borja, who was inches away from connecting with the ball, but the visiting goalkeeper came out quickly to catch it.

After a Talleres corner was cleared by the home defense, Riveros received the ball outside the box and surprised with a long-range left-footed shot that sailed just wide of Armani's left corner.

River had a small comeback after Talleres' goal, but all three attempts ended up being ruled out for Borja's offside. They still couldn't take advantage of the three forwards on the pitch.

After an attack that started on the right, Colidio crossed the ball to control and played it deep to Borja's diagonal from the center to the left and shot from point-blank range. Herrea saved it, but the play was ruled offside.

Miguel Borja and Germán Pezzella came on for the injured Enzo Pérez and Paulo Díaz. These are the first two changes for River, who still have three substitutions available and two windows to make them.

Bad attack by River that ended in nothing and there began the counterattack of the visit that was launched at speed. Blas Riveros gave it to Valentín Depietri who controlled it in his own field and ran to the home area to define and sentence the 1 to 0

Talleres counterattacked down the right flank, with several passes near the opponent's box, and Reinoso, who got in the way of a pass, entered the box past two opponents and sent a cross back that no one could connect with.

The referee gave the signal, the second 45 minutes are now underway.

Valentín Depietri and Augusto Schott replaced Nahuel Bustos and Santiago Fernández for Talleres. There were no changes for River.

With the score still 0-0, the referee called the first half to a close.

The start was intense, with both teams making attacks, but after the first 15 minutes, River began to dominate.

The referee added two more minutes from now on.

The match didn't have many stoppages in the first half and was only halted when Fernández of Talleres went to the ground to be treated by the medical staff.

The final minutes of the first half are underway, and despite River's efforts and attempts, they still couldn't break the deadlock against a passive Talleres.

Forward Nahuel Bustos was booked for protesting the referee. The player is the first for Talleres de Córdoba and the first in the match.      

Castaño touched Driussi, who, with the outside of his foot, slipped the pass into Colidio's run, who went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and, inside the box, shot but was blocked by Herrera.

Mastantuono created a free kick at the edge of the Talleres area and took charge of it. The shot deflected off the wall and went just over the visiting team's goal.

Defender Santiago Fernández of Talleres collapsed inside his own penalty area and requested medical attention. He left the pitch and changed his boots before re-entering the field.

River won a free kick on the right side of the opponent's penalty area. Mastantuono sent it straight into the box, and Driussi, with a header, deflected it, but it fell weakly into the hands of goalkeeper Herrera.

After a close and contested start, River took control of possession and moved into the opponent's half. Talleres no longer looked to dominate from possession, instead opting for a counterattack.

On this occasion, the home side pressed and attacked down the left, with Acuña sending a cross past the bar. Simón headed it down into the middle of the box, and Mastantuono, with his right foot, shot well over the crossbar.

River also uses the right flank to attack, with Montiel always starting alone and advancing into the opponent's box. He beat a marker and crossed, but it was intercepted by a defender who sent it to the corner.

After a River attack that came up empty, Talleres counterattacked, going deep down the right with Benavidez sending a cross to Girotti, who headed just wide.

River attacked down the left, with Acuña sending in a cross, and Colidio, after a poor clearance from the defense, shot wide. On the next play, Talleres drove down the right and sent a cross to Galarza Fonda, who failed to head it in.

Gastón Benavidez, the player with the most direct participations in the team's goals throughout this beginning of 2025, will look to be decisive in this very important match to get closer to the qualification zone. The right back has two goals and one assist in nine matches played, of which he started eight of them. He scored against San Martín de San Juan and Tigre, while he supplied Ulises Ortegoza against Atlético Tucumán. He also scored the defining penalty in the final against River.

Facundo Colidio, the team's top scorer and one of the players with the most goals in the beginning of the year, will try to score again to get closer to the top of the table and increase his personal tally. The 25-year-old forward has scored three goals: two in the same match against Independiente and one against Atlético Tucumán, in ten appearances, of which he started eight of them. He was also a starter in both Copa Libertadores matches and assisted Paulo Díaz for the 1-0 win in the debut against Universidad de Perú.

On the other hand, the “T” exhausted all its efforts in that final against River and then fell into a negative plateau that not only ended with the departure of its coach Alexander Medina, but also with many bad results. Out of the last 12 they could only win once, besides the penalty shootout against River in the Supercopa Internacional. In the standings, they are ninth with 12 points, the result of two wins, six draws and four losses. On the other hand, it lost the first two games of the Copa Libertadores.

The “Millonario” comes to this match after two consecutive draws that overshadowed the important victory in the debut of the Copa Libertadores in the Copa Libertadores. They drew goalless in the visit to Sarmiento de Junín and recently 1-1 with Barcelona of Ecuador. However, they are on an eight-match unbeaten streak, since the final they lost to Talleres was on penalties after a 0-0 draw. In the standings, they are fourth with 21 points after five wins, six draws and one loss.
