UK supermarkets are preparing for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend and have announced their reduced operating hours across the four days between April 18 and April 21.

Easter Sunday, which falls on April 20, will see most shops closed across England and Wales.

As both Good Friday (April 18) and Easter Monday (April 21) are bank holidays, the vast majority of supermarkets will remain open over those days.

Tesco

Tesco stores vary between their superstores, Extra, and their local shops, Express, with their opening times differing between the two.

Extra will be completely closed during Easter Sunday and will operate under reduced hours on Good Friday and Easter Monday, typically between 8am and 6pm in England and Wales.

Asda

Asda stores are scheduled to be open from 7am to 10pm on both Good Friday and Saturday, along with Easter Monday.

However, they will be completely closed on Easter Sunday.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's ill be open from 7am to 10pm on Good Friday and Saturday.

While many larger stores will shut on Easter Sunday, some smaller convenience stores may remain open from 7am to 10pm.

Aldi

Aldi will open from 8am to 10pm on both Good Friday and Saturday.

They will be closed on Easter Sunday, but on Easter Monday, the stores will reopen with reduced hours, typically from 8am to 8pm.

Lidl

Lidl is expected to be operating under its usual hours on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Monday.

However, they are expected to close on Easter Sunday.

The Co-op

As The Co-op is a smaller store, it will be operating under more flexible hours when compared to other supermarket chains in the UK.

It is expected that many stores will remain open across the four-day weekend.

Morrisons will be open from 7am to 10pm on Good Friday, along with Saturday the following day.

They will be closed on Easter Sunday and are scheduled to open between 7am and 10pm on Easter Monday.

Waitrose will be operating under the slightly reduced hours of 8am to 8pm on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
