Snap Fitness showed the community all the new amenities it has to offer with a grand reopening open house on Saturday, April 12.
First opened in 2017, the downtown fitness center has recently finished its biggest update since the addition of its adjoining smoothie shop, The McCoy Smoothies and More.

Over the last few months, Snap Fitness has, with help from a city revitalization grant, updated everything from its paint to its presses, only closing down the 24-hour gym for one day during the process.
“We’ve been planning it since last year, but we were able to get started in January,” said Manager Cassie Belew. “We were actually able to get done pretty quickly.”
Adapting its offerings to an expanding clientele, particularly as more teenagers and young adults join, Snap Fitness has added new heavy weight-lifting equipment like squat racks and hamstring machines, setting up additional equipment in the building’s basement.
“You have a large gambit of people with a range of needs,” said owner Marlowe Jung. “We want to be sure to let people know about the different amenities.”
Along with the new equipment, the back room of the building has been updated to facilitate group classes. The fitness center is also sporting a new body scan machine to help members track their progress and an infrared sauna, which invokes similar reactions to a traditional sauna without the extra heat.
“I wanted it to feel slightly zen and a little poshy,” said Jung.
To celebrate the additions, the fitness center hosted an open house on Saturday morning where the community was invited in for snacks, smoothie samples, door prizes, and tours of the facility.
Jung said she was pleased with the open house turnout and thankful for the support from the city and business community in celebrating the additions.
“We’re really blessed and lucky that we can be here downtown,” said Jung. “I always love to see the way the community embraces the businesses.”
