Dani Schofield, the former Medford nurse accused of diverting drugs from patients and replacing them with tap water, has had her pretrial conference moved to next month.

MEDFORD, Ore. -- The former Medford nurse accused of diverting drugs from patients and replacing them with tap water has had her pretrial conference moved to next month.

The defense counsel for Dani Schofield filed a motion on Tuesday to continue her pretrial conference to May 28, 2025. Court documents say the motion "is on the grounds and for the reason that the parties would like to discuss scheduling matters on the record" with Judge Jeremy Markiewicz. Patrick Green, the lawyer representing the state of Oregon in the case, confirmed the new proposed date worked for him.

Schofield, a former nurse at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, is facing 44 counts of second-degree assault after being accused of diverting patients' fentanyl for her personal use and replacing it with tap water, causing health complications for some patients and death in others.

Nine civil lawsuits have also been filed against Schofield and Asante in connection to the alleged drug diversion.
