Happy Birthday, Redondo Beach
The Redondo Beach Historical Society hosts a full slate of events celebrating the city’s 133rd birthday at the Morrell House, 298 Flagler Lane, starting at 11 a.m. The event will feature the LA South Towns, who will perform a variety of songs, ranging from nostalgic show tunes and classics from “The Great American Songbook” to patriotic and inspirational favorites. Guest speaker Tony Trutanich, owner of Tony’s restaurant on the Redondo Beach Pier, will share his thoughts on the topic of “Legends of Redondo Beach.” RBHS volunteers will serve birthday cake and bottled waters at the event. Plant Sale
Hermosa Garden Club presents its Plant Sale at Nova Community Church, 4345 Emerald St., in Torrance, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event features sales of indoor and outdoor plants, white elephant items, and baked goods. The sale also includes an opportunity drawing. Members will be available to give advice about gardening issues.
