Huntsville woman arrested on aggravated child abuse charge
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Court documents have revealed more information regarding the arrest of a Huntsville woman charged with aggravated child abuse.
Huntsville Police officials say 35-year-old Jessica Patterson Traweek brought a child to the hospital on March 28 for treatment.

Huntsville Police were notified after hospital staff observed injuries to the child that did not appear to be accidental.
The Department of Human Resources was notified and enacted a safety plan to make sure no further harm would happen to the child while a Special Victims Unit member could investigate.
Officials say the investigation revealed that Traweek had abused the child several times in the past.
According to court records, between November 2024 to March 2025, Traweek is accused of abusing an eight-year-old by pulling their hair out, open-hand striking them, choking them and breaking their arm.
On April 25, the investigator obtained a warrant for Traweek’s arrest. On the same day, she was located and arrested.
Traweek was charged with Child Abuse - Aggravated - Family.
She was initially booked in the Madison County Jail and held without bond.
During a hearing on April 30, Traweek was granted a $20,000 bond. As a condition of her bond, she is not allowed to have contact with the victim.
