Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is just one of the games included in the deal

The Nintendo Switch 2 might be on the way, but that doesn't mean you should turn your back on the immense catalogue of games that released for the original console over the last eight years. With the new hardware promised to be compatible with most of the original Switch's games, there's still a bargain to be had by picking up some of the old games ready to play on the new console.

Argos is currently running an incredibly lucrative deal that lets you bundle together two games for £20 on select titles, with some heavy-hitters from the last decade included in the mix. Better still, we can actually drive that £20 deal down to less than a fiver when purchasing the games using TopCashback.

When you create a new account with TopCashback, you'll be rewarded with £15 cashback when you spend £15. That takes the deal price of this game bundle down to £4.75, letting you essentially grab each game for £2.38 each.

While there are several games you could pick up in this deal, I've selected five that you should consider as the best of the bunch. One of them is even a Mario game, which is quite rare given Nintendo is usually keen on keeping the price of its flagship games quite high.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Mario and the gang appear in a bit of an unorthodox game for the franchise with them teaming up alongside Ubisoft's Rabbids. The world of the crazy rabbit creatures has merged with the Mushroom Kingdom for an adventure that's unlike anything you've ever played in a Mario game before.

Instead of platforming your way through levels, you'll instead battle your way through stages in turn-based battles. This means commanding each character across a battlefield and executing attacks on enemies with probabilities and status effects to consider.

It's an incredibly left-field take on the Mario formula, but one that's well regarded when it comes to reviews. It was awarded with an 85% rating on Metacritic when it launched in 2017.

Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition

If you're missing that traditional 2D platforming action that Mario is known for, then Rayman Legends is an ideal alternative. It follows the iconic Rayman character in a side-scrolling adventure that sees him traversing stunning environments.

There's a bit of combat involved too with Rayman occasionally needing to take on a boss at the end of a level. If you have a few friends to play with, they can join in up to four-player co-op.

This is another highly coveted game with it scoring 84% on Metacritic at the time of release. Although the original game launched in 2013 on the Wii U, the 2020 re-release still holds up today.

New Super Lucky's Tale

Next up, we have New Super Lucky's Tale. If you're like me and are patiently awaiting the next 3D Mario game, this title might just scratch that itch.

It follows Lucky on an adventure through a tome called the 'Book of Ages', taking him across several drastically different worlds. There, he'll need to engage in all sorts of 3D and 2D platforming puzzles to complete quests, take part in mini-games and make friends along the way.

There's also thousands of collectibles to gather if you're someone who enjoys collectathon games. It's ideal for both younger and older audiences alike.

Overcooked! 2

For those looking for a new co-op game to try, they don't get much better than Overcooked! 2. It sees you and up to three other players take charge of different kitchens, each with their own menu and layout.

It's up to you all to co-ordinate among yourselves to make meals as fast as you can and deliver as many orders as you can before time runs out. The tension quickly rises up with meals getting more complicated to make and the kitchens getting more and more obstacles as you progress through the levels.

This game is a true relationship tester, with it easily descending into arguments quickly if you're not careful to co-operate with each other. Still, that only makes it all the more satisfying when you finally beat some of the harder challenges the game has to offer.

Little Nightmares Complete Edition

Last up, we have Little Nightmares Complete Edition. This is certainly one for the older audience with it rated PEGI 16, which is mostly down to the horror aspect of its design. You'll play as a miniature character 'Six' who traverses a grim environment, desperately trying to stay out of harms way as much as possible.

This package includes both Little Nightmares and its DLC pack which adds in some additional content for you to play through. Released in 2018, critics appeared to love the game with it earning a 79% score on Metacritic.
