When Yours Clothing opened in the Orchard in Taunton

The fashion brand, known for selling plus-size clothing, opened in the Orchard Shopping Centre, replacing the previous Roman store opposite Card Factory, on Friday, May 10, 2019.

The store has been a mainstay ever since, and has stayed put despite the revolving door of some stores in the Orchard Shopping Centre, which shows many shops have come and gone in recent years.

Some of the shops that have left the Orchard Shopping Centre in Taunton since Yours arrival include Game, Hawkin's Bazaar, Panache Gift Shop, and Warren James jewellers, just to name a few.

However, it seems that either Yours was looking for a way out of the Orchard Shopping Centre or the business was looking to expand in 2020.

In February of 2020, it was confirmed that the Women's fashion brand Bon Marche, which operated a store on Fore Street in Taunton, would be closing down, seemingly for good.

After seeing this opportunity arise, a planning submission for Yours to put up a sign on the closing Bonmarche store was made to the Somerset West and Taunton Council.

However, this never materialised and the Bonmarche store ended up being rescued in a deal with the owner of Edinburgh Woollen Mill. This deal prevented the brand and its sister businesses, Ponden Home and Bonmarche, from going out of business. Bonmarche remains open to customers in 2025.
