Hemp, Inc. Launches National Tour to Expand Industrial Hemp Growing Capacity in the United States

Spring Hope, NC. , July 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) announced today that it has launched a multi-state national tour to meet with industrial hemp farmers across the nation in order to expand the company’s hemp-growing capacity and provide small to medium size farms access to the company’s state-of-the-art hemp processing and manufacturing infrastructure in Spring Hope, North Carolina. A global leader in the industrial hemp industry, Hemp, Inc.’s 85,000 square foot industrial hemp processing and manufacturing facility has been operational since August 2017.  It is the largest multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in the western hemisphere.

The multi-state tour began in North Carolina where planting began on thousands of acres. Southern Nevada and Arizona were also visited by Hemp, Inc. CEO, Bruce Perlowin where he met with hemp growers to discuss possible joint venture partnerships and purchased high-end, high-CBD industrial hemp. “The timing could not be more perfect, as industrial hemp is in the 11thhour of becoming legal after passing the Senate,” says Perlowin.  He also began work to launch a new product line (which will be discussed in more detail in future press releases). Perlowin then toured California where he met with more hemp growers, including Frank Van Vranken of North Cal Wood Products. Vranken has an organic seed crop with 100,000 seeds and 26 strains, in Ukiah, California.

Hemp executives are now in Oregon where they are examining a hemp grow with 60 different varieties of high CBD hemp being grown for Hemp, Inc. “There is very little THC and very high CBD in these hemp grows,” said Perlowin.   The Hemp, Inc. team is scheduled to tour Colorado, Kentucky, West Virginia and possibly New York and Pennsylvania over the next few weeks.

“This Tour is centered on creating a large block of suppliers of hemp biomass, hemp flower, hemp stalk and, in fact, all the components of the hemp plant,” said Perlowin. “In the U.S., there are thousands of hemp grows with the potential to earn a really good income, more so than almost any other crop.  Imagine the benefit to those hemp farmers of having access to Hemp, Inc.’s 85,000 square foot industrial hemp processing facility.”

The U.S. Senate passed in June its 2018 Farm Bill that includes provisions that would legalize hemp, removing it from the federal list of controlled substances and allowing it to be sold as an agricultural commodity. Now that hemp legalization language is included in the Farm Bill approved by the Senate, it will be part of discussions by the bicameral conference committee that will merge both the House and Senate bills into a single piece of legislation to be sent to President Trump's desk for his historic signature, signing the bill into law.

As support for hemp legalization continues to gain bipartisan support on Capitol Hill, Hemp, Inc. CEO Bruce Perlowin has been meeting with hemp farmers in Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon and Colorado, among other locations. According to Hemp Business Journal, the hemp industry is projected to grow 700% and hit $1.8 billion by 2020.

The Facebook post from 6/28/2018 shows another semi of processed LCM’s being shipped out and the final planting of one of many fields of hemp being grown this year. “We recognize that the time is now to capture the rapidly evolving multi-billion dollar hemp market,” said Hemp, Inc. CEO Bruce Perlowin. “We began building our world-class infrastructure for hemp manufacturing and processing in Spring Hope, North Carolina, prior to North Carolina implementing its hemp cultivation program over four years ago so that we could service the industry’s need as soon as the program launched. We are strategically investing our time in developing partnerships with farmers across the country to help them play a key role in this new economic landscape.”

Passage of the Farm Bill with provisions that legalize hemp at the federal level will also encourage interstate commerce and spur economic activity in towns throughout the United States. Notably, the U.S. imported $78 million more worth of hemp than it exported in 2015, according to Fortune, which highlights the impact federal prohibition of hemp has had on this trend.

As more states continue to adopt pro-hemp legislation, more companies are entering the industrial hemp and cannabidiol (CBD) industry and looking to expand their footprint in the marketplace, thus aligning with Hemp, Inc. for its proven expertise and state-of-the-art hemp processing and manufacturing infrastructure in Spring Hope, North Carolina.
